TaskVerification is a Chaster extension that enables Keyholders to create and manage verification tasks for lock wearers. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
1. Data We Collect and Store
When you use TaskVerification, we store the following information in our secure MongoDB database:
Chaster User IDs: Anonymous identifiers provided by Chaster to link tasks to users
Task Definitions: Task titles, descriptions, reward/punishment configurations, and task type settings (persistent/normal, difficulty mode)
Proof Submissions: URLs or links to media (images/videos) hosted on third-party services (Imgur, Redgifs, etc.)
Timestamps: Dates/times when tasks are created, started, submitted, approved, or rejected
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
❌ Chaster authentication tokens (these are never stored, only used for API calls)
❌ Passwords or credentials of any kind
❌ Actual media files (we only store URLs to externally hosted content)
❌ Personal information (names, emails, addresses, etc.)
❌ Device information, cookies, or tracking data
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively to provide the core functionality of the extension:
Display tasks to the wearer and Keyholder
Track task progress and completion status
Store verification codes and proof submissions
Trigger rewards and punishments via the Chaster API
We do not use your data for any other purpose.
4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
✅ Chaster API: We communicate with Chaster's official API to verify sessions and apply lock actions (rewards/punishments). This is required for the extension to function.
✅ Media Hosting Services: If you submit proof via external URLs (Imgur, Redgifs, etc.), those services have their own privacy policies. We do not control how they handle your media.
❌ No Third-Party Analytics: We do not use Google Analytics, advertising networks, or any tracking services.
❌ No Data Sales: We will never sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
5. Data Security
All data is stored in a secure MongoDB database with access controls
Communication with our server uses HTTPS encryption
Chaster tokens are validated but never stored in our database
Task data is isolated per session - users cannot access other users' tasks
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Manual Deletion: Keyholders can delete individual tasks or all tasks at any time via the extension interface. This immediately removes the data from our database.
Automatic Cleanup: When a lock ends or the extension is removed, task data may remain in the database unless manually deleted.
Your Rights: You can request complete deletion of your data by contacting us (see below).
7. Cookies and Local Storage
We use browser sessionStorage to temporarily store your Chaster authentication token during your session. This token is cleared when you close your browser. We do not use persistent cookies.
8. Children's Privacy
This extension is designed for use with Chaster, which requires users to be 18+ years old. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
